How do you define educational equity?

To me, educational equity means ensuring that every student receives what they need to be successful—not based on a one-size-fits-all approach, but through a lens that is fair, just, and intentional. It requires us to truly see each student as an individual, understanding their unique experiences, strengths, and challenges. Educational equity goes beyond equal access; it’s about meeting students where they are and providing the specific resources, support, and opportunities necessary to help them reach their full potential—academically, socially, and emotionally. It is our responsibility as educators and leaders to create systems that remove barriers, amplify student strengths, and build inclusive environments where all learners can thrive.
