How do you define educational equity?

Educational equity to me when the school system sets up foundations that ensure that every student—regardless of their background, circumstances, or identity—has full access to the resources, supports, and opportunities they need to succeed in all ways social emotionally, academically, and behaviorally. As an educator, I, myself have always strived to be an advocate the Foster and Homeless Youth, making sure their educational rights and needs are met. In all my roles I have always established and implemented inclusive practices like restorative circles and culturally competent programs that reflect and respond to the needs of diverse student populations. At the root of my efforts I always use data to identify and address disparities in academics and behaviors.
